26th February: Time to get started
26th Feb 2006: Since spending time with my daughter at the baby care unit at the Whittington in Archway I've long wanted to somehow give something back. Unfortunately I am not very good at fund raising as I haven't done an awful lot and can't say it's the most obvious thing I'd do with my spare time. However I have put off this long promised fund raising effort too long and today will finally get started.
So why a marathon? Well I'm not very good at jumble sales or dinner parties and running sounds so easy, doesn't it? It's surely putting one foot in front of the other and just keep going. I had planned to enter the London marathon in 2005 but left it too late. I entered again for 2006 but found out in December I made it onto the shortlist but to no avail. I have therefore decided to go further afield and considered New York, Sydney, and Tokyo before opting for the more scenic Edinburgh marathon in June 2006! I have bought some books on training so will let you know how I get on. Here goes...
